Urn Quality & Creation
Each one of our ceramic pet urns must pass extensive 7 inspection stages of quality control process for quality, durability, workmanship & design before we sell our pet urns! We only use 100% American made slip casting material, textures & glazes to make our pet urns. Our artist hand paints & designs unique patterns and paw prints on each of our ceramic pet urns. Our ceramic pet urns are all original and not copied, no two pet urns are exactly alike.
1) Our first inspection starts with preparing the slip casting material for the proper moisture content for less shrinkage and strength of your greenware pet urn.
2) After we have poured the slip into the plaster pet urn mold, timing is very important to allow for the proper thickness of your greenware pet urn for strength and durability.
3) After your greenware pet urn is removed from the mold, we inspect the greenware for quality and condition of your pet urn. If the greenware passes we then send it to the drying stage where it is placed under low heat for up to 3 days until it becomes a bone dry color and all of the moisture has been removed from the greenware.
4) Now that your greenware is dry, the cleaning process of the greenware begins by removing all of the mold casting lines on the greenware. once your pet urn has been 100% cleaned, we inspect it for workmanship, before its placed in the kiln to be fired with temperatures reaching up to 2000* degrees for 8 to 10 hours. After the first firing process is complete, your pet urn is no longer greenware but it is now called bisque and has become very hard and extremely durable and will last forever!
5) Now that your ceramic pet urn has been fired, we then take it out of the kiln the next morning, and your bisque ceramic pet urn is then inspected for the quality of the kiln firing process. If after we inspect it and it passes, your new bisque ceramic pet urn, is then sent to our artist where she will begin starting the artistic painting and glaze process of patterns and paw prints on your ceramic pet urn.
6) Our artist starts the painting process paying attention to all of the details of the quality of her art work. When your pet urn is finished, we inspect it for the thickness of the glaze and workmanship before your pet urn is placed in the kiln for the second and final firing process for 8 to 10 hours.
7) Now that your ceramic pet urn has been fired for the second time, we then take it out of the kiln the next morning and inspect it for the final inspection for quality of the glaze finish and workmanship before we carefully pack your ceramic pet urn in the shipping box and we ship out your new ceramic pet urn to you!
